You know that saying “people don’t remember what you did, they remember how you made them feel”?
Meaghan and Nick are possible the two sweetest humans ever born. That is what I will remember about them. They made us feel at ease, they made us feel welcome, they made us love them almost instantly.
We met these two for the first time on a trip to Seattle to shoot their engagement session. They came to meet us at the hotel and spent an hour watching us chase our newly walking son around the hotel lobby and we got to talk about so many things. They are immediately warm and endearing, and feel like people you just want to be friends with.
Luckily for us, we got to see them again a year later for their wedding at The Orchard in Hood River the following summer. The focus of their wedding day was their loved ones, and each other. They didn’t make a fuss about any one detail- they just wanted to have fun and be with the people they love. Exactly our vibe.
In terms of photography for their day, they gave us so much leeway to shoot the day we thought would work best. The Orchard doesn’t provide much shade on summer days, so we were lucky that Meaghan and Nick gave us extra time at sunset for portraits as well as wedding party photos. It was such a treat having that kind of light for wedding party- as it’s not typically something we have time to do. (If you’re reading this, please consider having your wedding party do 5 minutes of sunset pics!).
Congrats to you babes, thanks for trusting us with your day.
