Laura and Daniel are pretty special to us. I almost fell over when I heard my name during the ceremony as one of the people who encouraged Laura to continue her long distance romance with Daniel while he was away for a new job.

Laura and I worked together as Americorps members (way way back in the day) for the Boys and Girls Club of Bend. We were the only two Americorps members on staff, so we spent a lot of time talking about life, being broke, and of course, relationships. When I first met Daniel, I knew he was the one for Laura, and I think she knew it too. She’s more practical than I am, and of course, it’s always easier as an outsider to say “oh he’s the one”… There was just something truly kind about him, and knowing how kind Laura is, I knew they would be a good match. In any case, when he moved away for work, I suggested to her that she write him letters… 5 years later, they were happily engaged and ready to spend the rest of their lives together.

I cannot take credit for this relationship (though it would be cool if I could!)… Laura and Daniel made the effort to build a strong, caring and fun relationship over those years. Out of all the people I know, these two are the best example of the saying “better together”. Laura brings creativity, stability and diligence, while Daniel brings laughter, fun and light-heartedness. Both love adventure and live their lives in kindness and caring for those around them. I truly can’t imagine two people more suited for one another.

Laura and Daniel’s wedding was full of the same kindness and love that you’d expect from these two. Of all the weddings we shot this year, this one probably had the most laughter and tears of joy. Nordia House was a beautiful space for this event, we cannot wait to shoot there again!
