We knew Hayley and Joel were our kind of people after we spent a significant portion of our initial FaceTime meeting watching their cats while Hayley told us all about their personalities. We were charmed, we were entertained, we were ecstatic when they asked us to be their photographers. And it didn’t hurt that they were getting married at Mt. View Orchards, one of our absolute favorite venues ever!
Hayley warned us that Joel might not be the most eager photo-taker out there. He’s an introvert, and attention probably isn’t his favorite thing. We were delighted to find that he was super easy to work with — quiet, yes, but clearly VERY into the whole wedding day. Watching him fight back tears at several points in the day made us a little misty too. He was only shy in relativity to Hayley’s absolutely radiant personality. I don’t have to describe it to you — it’s plain to see in all the photos. She glows! These two complement each other so beautifully.
Mt. View Orchards, just outside Hood River, worked as a great in-between point for Hayley’s New Zealand family and Joel’s Ohio contingent. The apples were ripening, the clouds gave us fleeting dramatic glimpses of Mt. Hood, and the cider was flowing. Celilo Catering kept everyone happy with their predictably delicious and farm-fresh food. A perfect day!
